Durham Kennel Club Membership

Membership in the Durham Kennel Club is open to any person interested in any aspect of dog showing and training. The person must be in good standing with the American Kennel Club and the community. To find out more about the Durham Kennel Club, talk to members, come as a guest to club meetings, and/or attend our events. To join, fill out a Membership Candidate Application and submit the completed form as directed.

The application must then be reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors, to be read to the Club members and read in at the next member meeting. After being accepted by the membership you will receive the DKC newsletters, a membership list, and a copy of the by-laws. As a Candidate Member you are entitled to all membership privileges, except that of voting or not eligible to apply for awards. You may become a full member of DKC six to twelve months after becoming a Candidate Member, after fulfilling service requirements and attending meetings. Please fill out the Regular Membership application and submit.



 

IMPORTANT DATES:

 

Board Meetings are held on the following months: June, August, September, November, February, March and April.

Club Member Meetings are held on the third Monday of: August, September, October, November, January, March, April and May.

The Club's officers are elected at the May meeting.

Fiscal Year is from June 1 to May 31.

A Christmas Party is held on the third Monday of December.

The Annual Awards Dinner is held in February.
